1. Accounting (Opinion based upon Keiei Zaimu article)
It is criticized that a huge increase in the number of CPA examination
passers under the new system has produced many who cannot get jobs.
Recently, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) is proposing that CPA
certification should be divided into two categories, Audit and Accounting.
The main point is that the Japanese Institute of Certified Public
Accountants has no control over the examination system. I am very concerned
about potential confusion caused by this type of proposal.
2. Taxation (Source: “Zeimu Tsushin Magazine”)
The Tokyo District Court issued a ruling on the payment of service fee to
the employment agency that arranged foreign fishermen for the fishery
company that is engaged in deep-sea tuna fishery by taking foreign fishermen
on board. The court says that 20% of taxes should be withheld since it is
considered that the fishery company pays the service fee through the
employment agency to foreign fishermen who fall into “non-residents”.
3. This Week’s Words of Wisdom (Source: “English words of wisdom to
enrich life”)
“Big talk without action is no more than nonsense.” (Ko Hirasawa)
This week’s saying is again about action.
There are a number of sayings about action in the world. That tells us how
difficult it is to take action.
I wonder how many people are still keeping their New Year’s resolution.
